The Walking Sticks
with Chelsea Lee
June 29
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In 1996, at age seven, they shared the piano bench and played their original song. Four hands, two voices and one beautiful spirit. Fast forward fifteen years, listen to their new all original 14 song album, and one arrives at a simple conclusion; music this organically good could only come from a story like theirs.
The Walking Sticks Band is headed by Max and Spencer Ernst, 22 yr. old twin brothers from Silver Spring, Maryland.Since they were knee high they’ve been playing, singing and writing songs together, which has brought them to here, only the beginning. You may pick up on some of the embedded influences; Neil Young, Petty, Simon and Garfunkel, but there’s so much more. Their sound is roots based, wide open, traveling through to a new generation. The songs are immediate, real, and speak to us as if they’ve been in our heart all along. Of the many instruments they played on the new record, one becomes most poignant. The old piano with the bench they shared at age seven. The Walking Sticks, twin brothers, one beautiful spirit.

The Colliders
August 17
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
What if Don McLean was wrong and the music didn't really die? What if the spirit of the music that inspired rebellious young America in the 1950s survived underground all these years. If that happened, you would hear The Colliders. The Colliders are Jim Kennedy on guitar, Hank Burnett on drums, and Bill Enderlin on bass. The material is classic rockabilly, blues and honky-tonk from back in the day, mostly rockabilly-ish tunes with a big beat. Most of the songs date back to the days before the Beatles showed up on Ed Sullivan, back before guys in suits figured out there were millions to be made out of this rowdy noise the kids called "rock and roll." Back when the music was real.
